Order Designating the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology as Minister for Purposes of the Canadian Space Agency Act, the Canadian Space Agency as a Department, and the President of the Agency as Deputy Head

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, is pleased hereby, effective December 14, 1990,

  • (a) pursuant to the definition Minister in section 2 of the Canadian Space Agency ActFootnote *, to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology, a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, as the Minister for the purposes of that Act;

  • (b) pursuant to paragraph (b) of the definition department in section 2 of the Financial Administration Act, to designate the Canadian Space Agency as a department for the purposes of that Act;

  • (c) pursuant to paragraph (b) of the definition appropriate Minister in section 2 of the Financial Administration Act, to designate the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology as the appropriate Minister with respect to the Canadian Space Agency;

  • (d) pursuant to the definition department in subsection 2(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, to designate the Canadian Space Agency as a department for the purposes of that Act; and

  • (e) pursuant to paragraph (b) of the definition deputy head in subsection 2(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, to designate the President of the Canadian Space Agency as the deputy head of the Canadian Space Agency for the purposes of that Act.
