Albania and the Sultanate of Oman Goods Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 115 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Albania and the Sultanate of Oman Goods Remission Order.

Remission

 Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted in the amount of customs duties paid or payable under the General Tariff that exceed the customs duties applicable under the Most-Favoured-Nation Tariff under the Customs Tariff on goods imported from Albania and the Sultanate of Oman.

Conditions

 The remission is granted on condition that

  • (a) with respect to goods that originate from Albania, the goods were imported into Canada during the period commencing on September 8, 2000 and ending on March 14, 2001;

  • (b) with respect to goods that originate in the Sultanate of Oman, the goods were imported into Canada during the period commencing on November 9, 2000 and ending on March 14, 2001;

  • (c) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years of the date on which the Order comes into force, and,

  • (d) no claim for refund or drawback under the Customs Act or Customs Tariff has been granted with respect to the goods on which remission is claimed.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
