Regulation Adapting the Canada Elections Act for the Purposes of a Referendum

Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Referendum Act, the Chief Electoral Officer repeals the Regulations Adapting the Canada Elections Act for the Purposes of a Referendum made on December 20, 2001, and registered under SOR/2002-25, and makes the Regulation Adapting the Canada Elections Act for the Purposes of a Referendum, hereinafter.

Marginal note:Schedule

 The provisions of the Canada Elections Act set out in the Schedule are adapted for the purposes of applying them in respect of a referendum.

Marginal note:Interpretation

  •  (1) In the Schedule, the expression not applicable following a provision of the Canada Elections Act means that the provision does not apply in respect of a referendum.

    (2) In the Schedule, the expressions “the Act” and “this Act” refer to that schedule.

Marginal note:Coming into force

 This regulation comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
