B.06.024 [S]. Canthaxanthin shall be the food colour chemically known as canthaxanthin and shall conform to the following specifications:

• (a) one per cent solution in chloroform clear;

• (b) loss of weight on drying not more than 0.2 per cent;

• (c) assay (spectrophotometric) 96 to 101 per cent.
