Ontario Fishery Regulations, 2007

Version of section 31 from 2009-12-10 to 2014-12-11:

  •  (1) No person shall angle with a line to which more than four hooks are attached.

  • (1.1) No person who angles in the waters of that part of the Credit River and its tributaries upstream of the Old Baseline Road bridge in the Town of Caledon in the Regional Municipality of Peel shall use

    • (a) a hook other than a single-pointed barbless hook; or

    • (b) a line to which more than one single-pointed barbless hook is attached.

  • (2) No person who angles in the waters set out in Part 1 of Schedule 4 shall use

    • (a) a hook other than a barbless hook; or

    • (b) a line to which more than one barbless hook is attached.

  • (3) No person shall angle using

    • (a) a hook other than a barbless hook

      • (i) in the waters set out in Part 2 of Schedule 4, or

      • (ii) in the waters set out in column 1 of Part 3 of Schedule 4 during the period set out in column 4;

    • (b) anything other than an artificial lure in the waters set out in Part 4 of Schedule 4;

    • (c) anything other than an artificial lure when ice fishing in the waters of Lake Nipigon and its tributaries; or

    • (d) anything other than an artificial fly in the waters set out in Part 5 of Schedule 4.

  • (4) No person shall angle for lake trout in the waters of Red Lake (51°03′ N, 93°49′ W) lying upstream of the Chukni River at Highway 125 using

    • (a) a hook other than a single barbless hook;

    • (b) a line to which more than one barbless hook is attached; or

    • (c) anything other than an artificial lure.

  • (5) No person shall angle in Cul de Sac Lake (49°38′ N, 94°50′ W), Clearwater Bay (49°42′ N, 94°45′ W) or Echo Bay (49°39′ N, 94°50′ W) of Lake of the Woods using

    • (a) a hook other than a barbless hook; or

    • (b) when angling for lake trout, a line to which more than one barbless hook is attached.
