Remission

1 Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff on barley or barley products originating from the United States classified under the tariff items of the Customs Tariff listed in Column 1 of an item of the attached schedules A or B in an amount equal to the difference between the customs duties paid or payable for those tariff items and the amount that would have been paid or payable if the rates of customs duties for those tariff items were the rates under the U.S. Tariff for the tariff items set out in Column 2 for that item.

Conditions

2 Remission is granted pursuant to section 1 for schedule A of this Order on the condition that the goods are imported into Canada on or after the date of this Order.

3 Remission is granted pursuant to section 1 for schedule B of this Order on the condition that the goods are imported into Canada on or after January 1, 1998.

4 Remission is granted pursuant to section 1 for schedules A and B of this Order on the condition that a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within three years after the date of importation.

Coming into Force

5 This Order comes into force on November 20, 1997.
