A Proclamation
Whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 1999-1126 of June 17, 1999, the Governor in Council has directed that a proclamation do issue giving notice that
(a) the annexed Protocol Amending the Convention between Canada and the Republic of Indonesia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, being a supplementary convention for the purposes of An Act to implement conventions between Canada and Spain, Canada and the Republic of Austria, Canada and Italy, Canada and the Republic of Korea, Canada and the Socialist Republic of Romania and Canada and the Republic of Indonesia and agreements between Canada and Malaysia, Canada and Jamaica and Canada and Barbados and a convention between Canada and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to income tax (“the Act”), chapter 44 of the Statutes of Canada 1980-81-82-83, which Protocol was signed on April 1, 1998 and alters and adds to the Convention set out in Schedule VI to the Act, came into force on December 31, 1998, and
(b) the provisions of the protocol to the Convention between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income, as the Convention is now titled, which protocol was signed at Jakarta on January 16, 1979 and is also set out in Schedule VI to the Act, cease to have effect in respect of taxable periods beginning on or after January 1, 1999;
Now Know You that We, by and with the advice of Our Privy Council for Canada, do by this Our Proclamation give notice that
(a) the annexed Protocol Amending the Convention between Canada and the Republic of Indonesia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, being a supplementary convention for the purposes of An Act to implement conventions between Canada and Spain, Canada and the Republic of Austria, Canada and Italy, Canada and the Republic of Korea, Canada and the Socialist Republic of Romania and Canada and the Republic of Indonesia and agreements between Canada and Malaysia, Canada and Jamaica and Canada and Barbados and a convention between Canada and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to income tax, which Protocol was signed on April 1, 1998 and alters and adds to the Convention set out in Schedule VI to the Act, came into force on December 31, 1998, and
