Stranded Steel Wire Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 115 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Stranded Steel Wire Remission Order.

Remission

 Subject to section 2, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff in respect of non-alloy steel stranded wire, having a diameter of 5 mm or less, of subheading No. 7312.10, imported into Canada during the period commencing on July 10, 1996, and ending on June 16, 1999, for use in the manufacture of tires.

Conditions

 The remission is granted on condition that

  • (a) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years after the date on which this Order comes into force; and

  • (b) the importer files such evidence as may be required by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency to determine eligibility for remission.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
